Everything runs in your browser, so your value never leaves your device. Whole numbers only for number base conversions.

A text to ASCII converter turns ordinary text into ASCII codes, and this page also rebuilds text from ASCII codes. ASCII is the classic code table for English text, where every letter, digit and punctuation mark has a number from 0 to 127. It is still the basis for how computers store plain text.

For example, H is 72 and i is 105, so the word Hi becomes 72 105. This tool converts a full word or sentence to its codes, separated by spaces, and it can also take codes separated by spaces and turn them back into text.

Everything runs in your browser, so your text never leaves your device. The tool works with plain English characters, and it gives a plain error for codes outside 0 to 127 or for text that is not a number, instead of a wrong answer.

Worked example: text Hi to ASCII, and back

Find the code for each character: H is 72, and i is 105.

Write the codes in order, separated by spaces: 72 105. So Hi in text is 72 105 in ASCII.

To decode, split the codes by spaces: 72 and 105.

Read the character for each code: 72 is H, and 105 is i, giving Hi again.
